Cribs for Kids Referral

What Is Cribs for Kids?

Cribs for Kids is a non-profit organization that educates parents, family members, and caregivers about the necessity of safe sleep practices when taking care of an infant. Cribs for Kids collaborates with agencies across the country, such as Jessamine County Health Department, to distribute learning materials and resources to different communities.

In addition to safe sleep education, Cribs for Kids distributes portable Cribettes free of charge for income-eligible parents and families. To submit a referral, please fill out the referral form below or contact our Safe Sleep Ambassador.

Who Qualifies for Cribs for Kids?

To receive a free Cribette and Safe Sleep Kit through the Cribs for Kids program, parents and families must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Jessamine County.
  • Be pregnant and in the third trimester OR be the parent or guardian of an infant under 1 year of age.
  • Have a critical need for a safe sleep environment for their infant.
  • Meet income requirements listed here or receive WIC and/or Medicaid.

What is included in the Safe Sleep Kits?

Parents and families who qualify will receive the following items in their kits:

  • Portable Crib and Mattress
  • Wearable Infant Blanket
  • Fitted Crib Sheet
  • Sleep Baby Book
  • Newborn Pacifier
  • ABCD’s of Safe Sleep Infographic
  • Safe Sleep Magnet
